This patient is an 80-year-old male with multiple underlying conditions, including cardiogenic edema, nephrogenic edema, hepatogenic edema, and lymphedema. Upon admission, the D-dimer level was significantly elevated, indicating a large thrombus burden, and he was diagnosed with lower extremity deep vein thrombosis. An inferior vena cava filter was implanted during the procedure. The EndoVas Medical CSS13-150 Peripheral Thrombectomy System was used; the 150 mm stent is compatible with the inferior vena cava filter without interference, effectively improving thrombus removal efficiency.
During the procedure, the Peripheral Thrombectomy System was used for three mechanical thrombectomy attempts. The beveled design of the stent efficiently strips adherent organized thrombus from the vessel wall, while the gradient-density mesh basket safely collects the thrombus. Post-procedure angiography following thrombus aspiration revealed patent iliac-femoral venous flow, indicating satisfactory thrombus clearance.
